Dental Treatment Camp: A Report


Location: Phulakharka ( Extreme Remote Village), Ganga Jamuna, Dhading, Nepal

Date: June 5, 2019 to June 6, 2019                                                                                                                                                 
Despite of heavy rain and difficult roads, Indu Sah Foundation, in collaboration with the Ganga Jamuna Municipality and Dhading Dental Clinic, conducted a two day Dental Treatment Camp in Phulkharka, Ganga Jamuna, Dhading, Nepal. The camp was highly successful. The underprivileged community and the underprivileged children got a superior level of dental care in two days. Around 150 people got the dental treatment and dental counselling.

The People participated for the dental treatment were of the age group 5 years to 80 years. Most of them were adults of age group 30 to 60 years.

According to the data collected, out of 150 people, everyone had Periodontal Problem, 80% had Dental Caries, 100% cases had Poor Oral Hygiene, 37% had Root Stumps, 33% had Missing tooth, 6.67% had Malocclusion, and 1 patient of age 46 year had complete Cleft Palate.

According to the accessibility and the resources, we provided treatments like Extraction, Antibiotic Prophylaxis and ART restoration.

During the treatment, 56 patients got their tooth extracted, 110 got Antibiotic Prophylaxis, 20 ART restoration, 30 patients were referred to higher center.

We collected the feedback from the beneficiaries, and we got appraised and we were asked to come again with such a wonderful camp. Indu Sah Foundation would like to thank the team members and the health coordinator, Dipak Adhikari of the Ganga Jamuna Municipality.
